معرفی
Caitlin Conn is an Assistant Professor of Biology at Berry College. Her research focuses on antagonistic plant relationships, including parasitic Orobanchaceae family plants and the interaction between American chestnut trees and their fungal blight. She holds a PhD in Genetics from the University of Georgia (2017) and a BS in Biology from Pennsylvania State University (2011).
Education:
- PhD in Genetics, University of Georgia, 2017
- BS in Biology, Pennsylvania State University, 2011
Research Interests: Dr. Conn studies parasitic plant genetics, gene duplication, phylogenetics, and the molecular mechanisms enabling plant-fungal interactions. Her work integrates genomic approaches to understand adaptation in parasitic organisms.
Grants & Awards: Recipient of an NSF Postdoctoral Fellowship in Biology (2017) for research on fungal parasite Escovopsis.
Teaching: Focuses on Genetics, Biological Diversity, and Evolution courses.
