C. Pazia Mannella

C. Pazia Mannella is an Assistant Professor and Fibers Area Head at the University of Missouri-Columbia. Her creative research explores intersections between digital weaving, architecture, and symbolic motifs.

Education:

• MFA in Fibers and Material Studies, Tyler School of Art, Temple University (2008)
• BFA in Fibers and Sculpture, Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2005)

Research Interests focus on weaving at human scale and architectural interfaces using a digital Jacquard loom. Her work manipulates surfaces with materials like paint, bleach, and dye to interrogate cultural representations of power and prestige.

Notable Achievements:

• MU Research Board Grant (2023) for TC2 loom acquisition
• Presentations at Digital Weaving Conferences (2023) and solo exhibitions at World of Threads Festival (Canada, 2023)

Her work will be featured in the upcoming Beyond: Tapestry Expanded exhibition (2025) at DePauw University, juried by distinguished fiber artists.
