معرفی
C. Lindsay Anderson is a Professor and Department Chair of Biological and Environmental Engineering at Cornell University, with affiliations to the Cornell Energy Systems Institute and the William Keeton House. Her research focuses on energy system decarbonization, integrating systems modeling and optimization to address challenges in renewable energy, power grid resilience, and climate change mitigation. She holds leadership roles, including interim Director of the Cornell Energy Systems Institute and past Marble Faculty Director for Energy at the Cornell Atkinson Center for Sustainability.
Education: B.Sc.(Eng) and M.Sc. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph (1994, 1998), and a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Western University (2004).
Research Interests: Anderson’s work bridges engineering, economics, and applied mathematics to decarbonize energy systems. Current projects include mitigating wind energy uncertainty, optimizing renewable integration, and assessing climate impacts on power systems. Recent studies explore electricity access equity in Latin America and zero-carbon grid reliability under climate variability.
- Awards: 2021 ESIG Excellence Award, NSF CAREER Award (2015), IEEE Senior Membership (2019).
- Teaching: Leads Energy Seminars (BEE/MAE 5459/5469) and Applied Modeling for Renewable Energy Systems (BEE/CEE 4880).
- Labs & Teams: The Anderson Lab emphasizes interdisciplinary, equitable research on energy transitions. Recent projects include climate resilience of grids and energy justice in rural regions.
