Vivek Srikrishnan is Assistant Professor in Cornell University's Department of Biological and Environmental Engineering. His research develops approaches to manage climate risk for societal systems, focusing on flood risk and energy system resilience under uncertainty.
Education includes:
- PhD in Energy and Mineral Engineering, Penn State University (2018)
- MS in Energy and Mineral Engineering, Penn State University (2015)
- BA in Philosophy, University of Illinois (2004)
- BS in Mathematics, University of Illinois (2004)
Research employs systems engineering, decision science, and data science methods to quantify climate impacts and evaluate risk management strategies. Current projects address floodplain management decisions, electricity grid vulnerability, and forest management under climate change. Srikrishnan teaches Environmental Systems Analysis (BEE 4750/5750) and Climate Risk Management (BEE 4850/5850), emphasizing computational approaches to environmental decision-making.
Honors include the Cornell Atkinson Venture Fund award (2025) supporting climate solutions research.
Recent publications demonstrate methodological innovation in agent-based modeling, uncertainty quantification, and integrated assessment of climate risks across multiple sectors.
