C. Eric Hellquist

C. Eric Hellquist is an Associate Professor of Biological Sciences at SUNY Oswego. His research program focuses on plant community ecology in wetland systems, particularly peatlands and aquatic environments in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

Major research themes include:

• Ecological impacts of invasive species in aquatic habitats
• Plastic pollution dynamics in the Great Lakes
• Conservation management of native aquatic flora
• Plant-animal interactions in wetland ecosystems

Field-based studies examine phenotypic responses of invasive plants, water quality interactions, and restoration ecology. Teaches courses in plant ecology, aquatic biology, and environmental science.
