Céline Aguer

Dr. Céline Aguer is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Ottawa, affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine and the Department of Biochemistry, Microbiology and Immunology. Her research focuses on inter-organ communication, particularly how skeletal muscle-secreted myokines influence metabolic health in chronic inflammatory diseases like type 2 diabetes and depression.

Recent publications highlight her expertise in polychlorinated biphenyls, metabolic flexibility, and antioxidant defenses. Her lab is supported by NSERC Discovery Grant, CIHR funding, and France-Canada Research Funds. She actively recruits participants for clinical studies on diabetes-depression links.
