Cécile Labarre

Cécile Labarre serves as a Lecturer at Paris-Saclay University, actively contributing to the Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science (SEA-PHAGES) program. In Fall 2022, she co-instructed the L2S3-Phage_Discovery section alongside Primary Instructor Ombeline Rossier and Additional Instructor Christophe Regeard.

Her research interests center on microbial genomics and evolutionary mechanisms, with emphasis on bacteriophage-bacteria interactions. The SEA-PHAGES program enables students to isolate novel phages, analyze genomic data, and contribute to scientific databases, fostering hands-on experience in cutting-edge genomic techniques.

As an educator in this initiative, she facilitates authentic research experiences where students engage in microbiological techniques, genomic annotation, and evolutionary analysis. The program bridges classroom learning with real-world scientific discovery through structured workflows from sample collection to genomic submission.
