Burak Ozturk serves as an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering at the University of Houston and is President and co-founder of VIAS. With over 10 years of experience in the Offshore Industry, his expertise spans pipeline and riser design, thermal-fluid sciences, structural design and analysis, and mechanical components design utilizing FEA/CFD methodologies.
His research interests focus on Subsea Engineering, Pipeline Design, Structural Analysis, Fluid Dynamics, and advanced simulation techniques. He possesses specialized knowledge in composites, elastomers, fatigue and fracture mechanics, design optimization, and non-linear analysis, frequently implementing Python scripting for workflow automation in engineering solutions.

Dr. Ozturk acts as the Subsea Engineering Academic Advisor at the University of Houston, teaching a dedicated 'Pipeline Design' course. He is an active ASME member since 2003 and currently serves as acting executive member of the ASME Pressure Technology Post-Construction Committee (PSD) since October 2013.
Through VIAS—a Dassault Systemes SIMULIA Abaqus partner with offices in Texas, Ohio, Michigan, and California—he leads engineering teams providing end-to-end solutions from concept to decommissioning, specializing in composites, elastomers, and non-linear analysis while adhering to industry regulations and standards.
