Burak Demirel is an Associate Professor at the Institute of Environmental Sciences, Boğaziçi University, where he also serves as Vice Director of the Institute of Environmental Sciences (IESc) and Head of the Environmental Technology Division. He holds a Ph.D. (2003), M.S. (1996), and B.S. (1994) in Metallurgical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University.
