Buddy North

Buddy North is Assistant Professor of Education and Co-Director of Education at Alaska Pacific University. As an Alaskan Athabaskan scholar, North explores connections between philosophy, education, and decolonization. His research examines intellectual courage in learning, outdoor education methodologies, and decolonizing approaches to philosophy and education.

Educational background includes a B.A. in philosophy from University of Alaska, M.A. from University of Victoria, and Ph.D. in Philosophy and Education from Columbia University. North integrates outdoor education experience from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, China, and Alaska into his pedagogical approach.
