Dr. Bryan Yorton serves as the Department Head and Associate Professor of Philosophy at Harding University (HSU), leading the HSU Philosophy Program. He previously chaired the Religion and Philosophy Department and directed the Honors Program at Bethany College, where he held the title of Distinguished Professor of Religion. His academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Philosophy from the University of Texas at Austin (1995), a Master of Arts in Humanities (Philosophy of Religion) from Western Kentucky University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from Westmont College.
His research focuses on the role of imagination in religious and ethical beliefs, alongside studies of Søren Kierkegaard. Beyond philosophy, his interests span theology, history, literature, politics, psychology, and general science. He is an active member of the American Philosophical Association and the Society of Christian Philosophers.
