Bruno Fabre is a CNRS Research Director at the University of Rennes 1, working at the Institut des Sciences Chimiques de Rennes (UMR CNRS 6226). He holds a PhD in electrochemistry from the Commissariat à l’Energie Atomique (CEA) in Grenoble and has held roles including postdoctoral research at Lyon’s Département de Médecine Expérimentale and a NATO fellowship at the National Research Council of Canada (2002). His research focuses on chemically modified electrodes, functionalized semiconducting surfaces, and electrocatalytic applications for solar energy conversion (e.g., water splitting and CO2 conversion).
Key professional memberships include the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE) and the OMNT network for molecular electronics. Awards include CNRS Excellence Awards (2011-2014) and the PEDR Prize (2017-2020). Collaborations span institutions like ICMAB-CSIC (Spain), Institut Lavoisier (France), and Louisiana State University (USA).
