Bruk Berhane

Bruk Berhane is Assistant Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in the School of Universal Computing, Construction & Engineering Education at Florida International University. His research focuses on engineering education pathways, particularly community college transitions and broadening participation for underrepresented minorities.

Berhane directs NSF-funded projects including the 2TO4 initiative facilitating engineering transfers and the 'Engineering for US All' national high school program. His work examines factors enabling Black student success in STEM through comparative studies of Minority-Serving Institutions.

With prior experience directing recruitment at the University of Maryland, he develops strategies to increase diversity in engineering programs and reduce time-to-degree for transfer students.
