Bruce D. Shriver

Bruce D. Shriver is a Professor-at-Large at the University of Tromsø (Norway) and Honorary Visiting Professor at the University of Hong Kong. He earned a B.S. in Aerospace Engineering and Mathematics from Cal State Polytechnic University (1963) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from SUNY Buffalo (1971).

• Research Staff Member and Department Group Manager at IBM’s T.J. Watson Research Center

His research spans computer hardware/software systems, microprogramming, and systems organization. He has chaired 35+ international conferences and contributed to global accreditation initiatives.

• Richard E. Merwin Award (2002) – for service to the IEEE Computer Society and computing profession
