Donald Towsley is a Distinguished University Professor in the Department of Computer Science at the Manning College of Information and Computer Sciences, University of Massachusetts Amherst. His research focuses on networking, quantum information systems, security, and distributed systems. He pioneered network tomography and fluid models for network analysis, and is a leading researcher in quantum networking and covert communications.

Research interests include wireless security, network science, and distributed learning. He has held visiting roles at IBM T.J.
