Brooke J. Bowman is a Professor of Law at Stetson University College of Law, where she serves as Director of Finances, Advocacy Boards, and Director of the Moot Court Board. She teaches Research and Writing I and II, coordinates the Scholarly Writing Series program, and has co-taught the Pre-1L Perspectives Workshop and Elder Law Seminar.
Her educational background includes a B.S. from Indiana University, Bloomington, an M.S. from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, and a JD from Stetson University College of Law.
Professor Bowman is a leading expert in legal writing pedagogy, appellate advocacy techniques, and law review editing standards. Her scholarship demonstrates innovative approaches to teaching legal writing across the law school curriculum and understanding how students learn citation formats through various learning styles. She has developed comprehensive resources for legal citation and contributed significantly to understanding effective oral argument techniques.
Her publication history shows consistent focus on improving legal education through practical resources for students and faculty, with recent work addressing persuasive advocacy in open legal questions and strategies for writing publishable short pieces.

As Director of the Moot Court Board, Professor Bowman has coached numerous teams to competition victories at all levels, including best brief and best advocate awards. She serves as a volunteer brief evaluator for national moot court competitions and has hosted various competitions on behalf of Stetson, the NYC Bar Association, the Tax Section of The Florida Bar, and the ABA. She also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Pinellas County Law Libraries and is active with the St. Pete Masters swim team as Treasurer, Meet Director, and Registrar.
