Brooke Elvington is an Assistant Professor in the College Administration department at Nova Southeastern University, affiliated with the Abraham S. Fischler College of Education and School of Criminal Justice. She holds a J.D. from Pennsylvania State University and a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University. Her research focuses on mass homicide offender typology and gun control legislation/reform. Dr. Elvington practiced law for over 20 years in state and federal criminal courts, representing clients in cases ranging from minor misdemeanors to first-degree murder, including the landmark first federal terrorism case post-9/11. Previously, she taught criminal law, wrongful convictions, constitutional law, and domestic violence law at Husson University in Maine. Her expertise bridges legal practice, academia, and criminal justice policy.
