Bronwyn Herde serves as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Adelaide's Adelaide Rural Clinical School within the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences. With over 11 years of dedicated service, she coordinates the Rural Medical Program, supporting Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) students during their rural placements across South Australia.
Her research interests center on rural medical education systems, with specialized expertise in developing effective placement frameworks for medical students in remote settings. She brings formal qualifications in Adult and Vocational Education and online learning delivery, enabling her to create multimodal educational platforms tailored to geographically dispersed medical trainees. Her work addresses critical challenges in rural healthcare workforce development and medical education accessibility.
As an active member of the Rural Health Research Steering Group, Ms. Herde collaborates with rural academics and South Australian community stakeholders to advance the South Australian Rural Health Multidisciplinary Training Program. Her contributions focus on building research collaborations between health institutions, supporting quality rural training experiences, translating evidence into practice, and addressing emerging health issues in rural communities.
