Dr. Brock MacLeod is a Continuing Sessional Instructor in the Academic and Technical Writing Program at the University of Victoria. He holds a PhD from UVic (2010), alongside MAs from Queen's University and the University of Kingston. His expertise spans Mediaeval and Renaissance Literature, with focuses on bibliography, satire, historiography, and education. He specializes in first-year composition courses and has taught Children's Literature. His teaching philosophy emphasizes emotional engagement, believing that laughter and heart-based learning enhance retention.
His research interests include reading situations in historic children's literature and the analysis of 'beat, pseudo, and metaphysical-filled' novels popular among young travelers. He maintains a personal collection of historic children's literature and remains actively engaged with literary analysis.
