Brittany Keegan

Dr. Brittany Keegan serves as Assistant Professor and Director of Research and Outreach at the Center for Public Policy within Virginia Commonwealth University's L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. She earned her Ph.D. from the Wilder School in 2018 with dissertation research examining nonprofit roles in refugee socioeconomic integration.

Her expertise focuses on:

• Nonprofit capacity building for violence prevention
• Community-based intervention strategies
• Refugee support systems
• Participatory research methodologies

Keegan maintains active community engagement through board service for the Virginia Chapter of the American Planning Association and 5th Wall Theatre. She was recognized as one of Richmond's Top 40 Under 40 in 2018 and chaired Virginia's statewide refugee mental health summit. Her applied research examines how nonprofit organizations can effectively serve populations affected by violence or conflict.
