Britta Livengood

Britta Livengood is an Instructor in Middle Level Education at Winthrop University's College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. She holds an M.Ed. in Literacy from Pennsylvania Western University and a B.S. in Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia.

Prior to her academic role, she taught middle school in New York and South Carolina, specializing in science, English language arts, and math. Her professional experience includes serving as a Literacy Specialist, providing reading interventions and instructional coaching for educators. Research interests focus on enhancing school-wide engagement with parents and community stakeholders, particularly for at-risk students.

Livengood's work emphasizes practical classroom strategies and systemic support structures to improve educational outcomes. She contributes to teacher training programs and advocates for inclusive educational practices through mentorship and curriculum innovation.
