Britney Moss

Britney Moss is an Associate Professor of Biology, Biochemistry, Biophysics and Molecular Biology at Whitman College. She holds a faculty position in the Department of Biology, BBMB program. Her research focuses on plant signaling pathways, particularly auxin hormone biology in maize, integrating synthetic biology approaches with systems-level analysis. She develops novel genetic tools and model systems to study auxin response circuits and their roles in developmental processes.

Dr. Moss employs techniques like fluorescence flow cytometry, synthetic biology strain construction, and bioluminescence imaging. Her work bridges molecular mechanisms with agricultural applications, emphasizing maize inflorescence architecture and crop improvement. She also contributes to STEM education through outreach programs.
