Andrea Gallavotti is a Professor at the Waksman Institute of Microbiology within the School of Environmental and Biological Sciences at Rutgers University. He is also a member of the Department of Plant Biology, where his research focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms regulating plant architecture using maize as a primary model system.
Gallavotti earned his PhD from the University of Milan under the supervision of Dr. Mario Enrico and completed postdoctoral training at the University of California San Diego in Dr. Robert Schmidt's laboratory and at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory with Dr. David Jackson.
