Brigitte Auziol is an Associate Professor (Maître de Conférences) in Design at the University of Nîmes, France. She holds a PhD in Information and Communication Sciences from Avignon University (2019) and is qualified in the 18th and 71st sections of the French National Council of Universities (CNU). As a permanent member of the UPR PROJEKT research team, she co-leads Axis 2: Design, Culture & Media. Her roles include co-head of the MEEF Master’s in Applied Arts (INSPÉ-Académie de Montpellier) and director of the Wine Tourism and Cultural Project professional license. She teaches in design pedagogy, exhibition design, and cultural mediation at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Research Interests: A phenomenological approach to exhibition design, mediation of design practices, design didactics linking exhibitions and pedagogy, and the historical and typological analysis of design exhibitions. Her work bridges museum studies, educational design, and cultural project management.
Her recent publications (2023-2013) focus on ecosocial design, territorial identity through design, and heritage dissemination. Notable works include analyses of Bouroullec Brothers’ exhibitions and the Vitra Design Museum. She actively contributes to international conferences on design pedagogy and exhibition practices.
Awards: 1997 Comité Colbert Prize for design innovation at Nina Ricci.
Teaching & Leadership: Over 15 years of academic experience, including design education in typography, project-based learning, and cultural mediation. She has designed educational tools for knowledge dissemination and led initiatives integrating design into public space interventions.
Labs/Teams: Core member of PROJEKT, a research unit focusing on social innovation through design, with interdisciplinary projects on material practices, vulnerability, and pedagogical spaces.
