Brienne Miner, MD, MHS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at Yale School of Medicine and serves as Vice Chair for Collaborative Excellence in Internal Medicine. She specializes in geriatric and sleep medicine, with a focus on aging-related health issues, sleep deficiency, and Alzheimer’s disease. Her research explores sleep assessment methods, circadian rhythms, and symptom management in older adults. Dr. Miner completed her MD at SUNY Downstate, MHS at Yale, and postdoctoral training in clinical epidemiology and aging. She holds multiple national awards, including the 2025 Arti Hurria Memorial Award from the American Geriatrics Society.
Her research interests include the evaluation of symptoms in older adults, sleep deficiency as a global construct, and the link between sleep disturbances and neurodegenerative diseases. She collaborates on projects analyzing sleep architecture using fMRI and machine learning. Dr. Miner’s work has been published in high-impact journals like Alzheimer’s & Dementia and Sleep. She actively reviews for journals such as the Journal of the American Geriatrics Society and contributes to media discussions on aging and health.
Dr. Miner is affiliated with the Dorothy Adler Geriatric Assessment Center and the Adult Sleep Medicine Program at Yale. Her clinical expertise includes managing sleep disorders, geriatric care, and anti-ageism initiatives. She leads studies on caregiver sleep patterns and the impact of sleep on cognitive decline, emphasizing patient-centered approaches to care.
