Bridget Walicki is a Research Fellow and Postgraduate Associate in the Child Study Center at Yale University's School of Medicine. She holds a B.S. in Behavioral Neuroscience (Lehigh University, 2022) and an M.Eng. in Healthcare Systems Engineering (Lehigh University, 2023). Her research focuses on autism spectrum disorders, clinical psychology, and developmental neuroscience, with a particular emphasis on social competency and stress management in autistic youth. She is affiliated with the McPartland Lab, where she investigates mechanisms underlying cognitive processes such as feature-selective learned distractor suppression.
Education:
- B.S. Behavioral Neuroscience, Lehigh University, 2022 (high honors)
- M.Eng. Healthcare Systems Engineering, Lehigh University, 2023
Research Interests: Bridget’s work combines clinical and experimental approaches to understand autism’s neurocognitive foundations. She has experience in laboratory settings (e.g., Dr. Nancy Carlisle’s Memory and Attention Lab) and applied therapeutic environments (e.g., Aspire camp for autistic youth). Her thesis explored distractor suppression mechanisms, reflecting her interest in how cognitive processes influence behavior and clinical outcomes.
Awards: She was awarded the Sara S. Sparrow Fellowship, supporting her clinical neuroscience research in autism. This position underscores her commitment to bridging scientific inquiry with patient-centered care.
Labs/Teams: Active member of the McPartland Lab, contributing to interdisciplinary studies on autism’s clinical and neurobiological aspects.
