Dr Bridget Kauma is an Assistant Professor in Economics at the University of Sussex Business School, where she has taught since 2021. She holds a PhD in Economics (2022) and an MSc in International Economics (2016) from the University of Sussex, as well as an MA in Economics (2009) and a Bachelor of Social Sciences (2004) from the University of Malawi.
Research Interests: Bridget specializes in Productivity and Labour Markets, with a focus on Development Economics and International Economics. Her work examines rural electrification's impact on household welfare, regional wage disparities, and public sector pay gaps during economic shocks.
Teaching: She has taught modules including Financial and Time Series Econometrics, Quantitative Methods for Business and Economics, and Statistics and Introductory Econometrics at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels over the past seven years.

Non-Academic Experience: Previously served as Chief Trade Officer in Malawi's Ministry of Industry and Trade (2005–2021). Her work bridges academic research with policy implementation in trade and labor economics.
