Brian Taylor

Brian Taylor is an Adjunct Faculty and Lecturer in the Department of Film at the College for Creative Studies. He holds a BA and MA in Communication from Eastern Michigan University and is a SAG-AFTRA actor with extensive professional experience in theatre, film, commercials, print, and voiceover.

His academic and artistic focus centers on Acting for Film and Stage, Theatre Directing, and Communication Theory. As a practitioner-scholar, he integrates industry experience into pedagogy, emphasizing practical training and theoretical understanding. He is certified in the Ivana Chubbuck technique, "The Power of the Actor", and serves as lead acting coach at the Detroit Drama Studio.

Brian made his professional theatre debut in 2017 in Detroit Public Theatre’s award-nominated production of Dominique Morisseau’s "Skeleton Crew", and recently completed the touring production of "Detroit 67". He is also a regional theatre director and casting director for the local production company "Area 56 Ent".
