معرفی
Brian Nyvang Legarth is an Associate Professor at the Technical University of Denmark, affiliated with the Department of Civil and Mechanical Engineering and specializing in Solid Mechanics. His research bridges theoretical and applied mechanics, focusing on fracture dynamics in composite structures and fluid-structure interactions.
- Education: Mechanical Engineer from DTU (1995–2001).
Research Interests: Legarth’s work centers on crack propagation, delamination, and failure mechanisms in layered and composite materials. He applies advanced finite element methods to model tunnel cracks, interface fractures, and kinking behaviors, particularly in aerospace and wind turbine structures. His recent projects explore dynamic fluid-structure interactions and sustainable composite design.
Publications & Projects: His 2024–2025 articles highlight collaborations on crack kinking in anisotropic bimaterials, delamination in composites, and fluid-structure simulations. Active projects include Green Sustainable Sandwich Composites and Dynamic Numerical Simulations of Racing Sailboats, with affiliations to the CASMaT research center.
Supervision: Legarth mentors PhD candidates (e.g., Andrea Horn, Mohsen Tayyebati) and supervises master/bachelor projects on fracture modeling and finite element methods. He collaborates extensively with researchers like Christian Berggreen and Lars Mikkelsen.
