Brian McCornack

Brian McCornack is a Professor and Department Head in the Department of Entomology at Kansas State University. He also serves as the ID3A Director of Engagement. His appointment is structured as 70% research, 20% extension, and 10% teaching. He leads initiatives in insect ecology, ecosystem services, integrated pest management, remote sensing, and web-based decision support systems.

McCornack holds a B.A. in Biology from Luther College (1998), an M.S. in Entomology from Michigan State University (2002), and a Ph.D. in Entomology from the University of Minnesota (2007).

His research focuses on native pollinators, natural enemies, bioeconomic modeling, and the application of unmanned aerial systems in agricultural monitoring. He actively develops digital tools for pest management decision-making and addresses invasive species challenges.

McCornack oversees the Integrated Pest Management (IPM) program at K-State, accessible via his department's website. He is engaged in outreach through social media (Facebook/Twitter) and collaborates on extension activities.
