Dr. Anamika Sharma is an Assistant Professor at Florida A&M University's College of Agriculture and Food Sciences, specializing in entomology and insect ecology. Her research focuses on biological control, integrated pest management, and urban insect management, particularly targeting fire ants, termites, mosquitoes, and invasive species. She leads the Urban Insect Id and Management Lab and contributes to the Southern IPM Center's projects.
Education: Ph.D. in Entomology (Charles Sturt University, Australia), M.S. and B.S. in Biological Sciences (Jai Narain Vyas University, India). She held postdoctoral roles at Virginia Tech and Montana State University.
Research Interests: Her work emphasizes using natural enemies (predators, parasitoids, entomopathogens) and biorational products for pest control. She explores insect-plant interactions, invasive species management, and sustainable agriculture. Her recent projects include termite distribution mapping and biopesticide efficacy studies.
Awards: 2021 International IPM Award (Team), Higher Degree Scholarship (Charles Sturt University), and recognition for peer review (Journal of Invertebrate Pathology).
