Brian L Hitsman is an Associate Professor at Northwestern University in the departments of Preventive Medicine (Behavioral Medicine), Medical Social Sciences (Intervention Science), Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, and Surgery. His research focuses on tobacco use and dependence, integrating psychological theory and neurobiology of addiction, with applications in mental health (major depression), cancer survivorship, and HIV.
