معرفی
Brian Kvitko is an Associate Professor of Molecular Plant Bacteriology at the University of Georgia, affiliated with the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences and the Department of Plant Pathology. His research focuses on molecular mechanisms of plant immunity against bacterial pathogens and bacterial genetic engineering for pathogen characterization.
- Education: PhD in Microbiology (Cornell University, 2009); BS in Microbiology (Ohio State University, 2003)
Research Highlights: His work on Pantoea and Pseudomonas syringae explores sigma factors in virulence, phage-derived bacteriocins, and virulence gene clusters. Recent studies include Enterobacterales host specificity and transcriptomic responses to plant immunity.
Publications span bacterial virulence mechanisms (2025), genomic characterization of phytopathogens (2023), and regulatory conflicts in Pseudomonas under immune pressure (2021).
