Brian J. Cummings, PhD, is a Senior Associate Dean for Faculty Development and Senate Professor at the University of California, Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine. He serves as Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. His research focuses on neurorehabilitation, traumatic brain injury (TBI), spinal cord injury (SCI), and neuroinflammation, with a particular emphasis on translational therapies involving neural stem cells and biomaterials.
