Dr. Brian Husband is a Professor in the Department of Integrative Biology at the University of Guelph, College of Biological Science. His research focuses on plant population biology, evolutionary genetics, and conservation. He leads the Husband Lab, studying mechanisms regulating genetic diversity and phenotypic evolution in plants, with particular emphasis on small populations, genome duplication, and hybridization impacts. He is actively involved in conservation efforts for species like American chestnut and red mulberry.
Education: B.Sc. (University of Alberta), M.Sc. (University of Alberta), Ph.D. (University of Toronto). He has held roles as Associate Dean Academic in the College of Biological Science, emphasizing curriculum development and student support.
