Dr. Henning's research lies at the intersection of metaphysics, aesthetics, and ethics, with a focus on Alfred North Whitehead's philosophy of organism. He pioneers non-anthropocentric ethical frameworks to address climate change, animal rights, and sustainability. His work challenges mainstream concepts like 'stewardship' and 'sustainability,' advocating for a return to foundational moral philosophy inquiries about the 'good life.'
His recent publications emphasize Whiteheadian responses to climate ethics, the moral significance of non-human organisms, and metaphysical foundations for environmental ethics. He explores themes like collective individuality in biology and the ethical implications of land use.
