Brian Brown is an adjunct professor of tuba and euphonium at the University of Delaware, Rowan University, The College of New Jersey, and a lecturer at Princeton University. He holds Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School, under teachers such as David Powers and Paul Krzywicki.
His professional roles include principal tuba positions in the Delaware Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Lumos, and The Philly Pops. He is a founding member of the Timberdale Brass Quintet and has performed with renowned ensembles like the Philadelphia Orchestra and Philadelphia Ballet Orchestra. Notable collaborations include performances with artists such as Placido Domingo, The Who, and Joni Mitchell.
Brown’s teaching extends to masterclasses at institutions like the Eastman School of Music and Curtis Institute. His freelance work includes NFL Films recordings and sessions for labels like Vox and Tomato.
As a soloist, he has performed with the DSO, Rowan University Wind Ensemble, and Orchestra Lumos. His career bridges classical, pop, and jazz genres, reflecting a diverse musical portfolio.
