Brian Brooks is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Cumming School of Medicine, Department of Pediatrics, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Faculty of Arts, Department of Psychology, at the University of Calgary. He is an Associate Member of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute and a Child Health & Wellness Researcher at the Alberta Children's Hospital Research Institute, Owerko Centre.

Research Interests: Dr. Brooks' program focuses on neuropsychological outcomes of children and adolescents with acquired brain injuries, particularly concussion/mTBI. His work aims to improve diagnosis, management, and prognosis after brain injury; identify neurobiopsychosocial markers of post-concussion syndrome; evaluate long-term outcomes; and explore treatment methods for youth with concussion/mTBI. He employs computerized cognitive testing, traditional neuropsychological assessments, psychological questionnaires, and neuroimaging.
Participation in Strategic Initiatives: Member of the University of Calgary's Child Health and Wellness (2020-2025) strategic initiative.
Collaborations: Dr. Brooks collaborates with investigators locally (Alberta Children’s Hospital, University of Calgary), provincially, nationally, and internationally.
