Brian A. Horton is an Assistant Professor of Anthropology at Brandeis University and holds affiliations with the Department of Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the Department of African and African American Studies, and the Interdepartmental Program in South Asian Studies (serving as its Chair from 2021–2024). His research focuses on LGBTQ+ culture and politics in the Global South, particularly India, exploring queer publics, race, digital anthropology, and intersections of pleasure and violence. He holds a Ph.D. (2019), M.A. (2014), and B.A. (summa cum laude, 201?) from Brown University and Texas Tech University, respectively.

His research interests include queer anthropology, digital cultures, and South Asian studies. He examines topics like queer sexpublics in Bombay, anti-Black racism in India, and the role of poppers in queer masculinity. His work has been supported by grants such as the ACLS Fellowship, NEH Summer Stipend, and Fulbright-Nehru Award.
