Brett Jones serves as the Charles E. Scheidt Human Rights Clinical Teaching Fellow at Yeshiva University's Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, affiliated with the Human Rights and Atrocity Prevention (HRAP) Clinic, and acts as faculty coach for the Clara Barton International Humanitarian Law Competition team.

Research concentrates on international humanitarian law, human rights law, Indigenous rights, Tribal law in the United States, and sexual/gender-based violence, featuring extensive collaboration with the National Indigenous Women’s Resource Center on the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Persons (MMIP) crisis and membership in the Lenape Center’s Nichusak MMIW Working Group.
Scientific awards include:
- Telford Taylor Award (2023) for outstanding Human Rights achievement
- Richard H. Weisberg Writing Award (2023) for Holocaust/Atrocity Prevention scholarship
- Best Application Brief award in the Clara Barton Competition as team leader
Brett advises the Clara Barton Competition team while leveraging prior leadership in student organizations including Executive Editor of the Cardozo Arts and Entertainment Journal, Treasurer of OutLaw, and CLIHHR Student Legal Fellow, complemented by teaching artist experience at California Shakespeare Theatre. Their clinical work in the HRAP Clinic drives advocacy for Indigenous communities and gender justice through legal education and policy engagement.
