Glykeria Teji

Professor Glykeria Teji is a faculty member at Seton Hall University School of Law, where she co-teaches the Immigrants' Rights/International Human Rights Clinic. She holds a Doctor of Juridical Science (S.J.D.) from Widener University Delaware Law School (2022) and an LL.M. from Cardozo School of Law. Her research focuses on the intersection of criminal and immigration law, mental health in detention, and dignity rights within legal systems. Previously, she served as Managing Attorney of the Detention and Deportation Defense Initiative (2021–2024) and held roles at Justice in Motion and Make the Road New York.

Research Interests: Professor Teji’s work emphasizes human rights within U.S. legal systems, particularly for detained non-citizens with mental illnesses. She advocates for integrating dignity rights into legal frameworks and has published on migrant healthcare access, cross-border collaboration, and policy reforms.

Grants & Projects: She led a pilot project on migrant children’s release from detention (Justice in Motion) and co-authored reports like Migration with Dignity with the Environmental Law Institute and IOM. Her doctoral research compared U.S. immigration and criminal justice systems regarding mentally ill non-citizens.

Labs/Teams: She contributes to the Center for Social Justice’s initiatives, including the DALE Clinic for undocumented workers and projects addressing housing justice and farmworker rights.
