Professor Brett Greatley-Hirsch is a faculty member at the School of English, University of Leeds, specializing in Renaissance literature, textual studies, and digital humanities. He joined Leeds in 2016 as a University Academic Fellow, was promoted to Associate Professor in 2021, and became Professor in 2024. His research focuses on the material conditions of literary production, critical editing practices, and computational analysis of authorship.
- Founder and coordinating editor of Digital Renaissance Editions (with Janelle Jenstad, James Mardock, Sarah Neville)
- Co-General Editor of CADRE: Co-Authored Drama in Renaissance England
- Co-Investigator for the Thomas Nashe Project and contributor to the New Oxford Shakespeare
His work integrates digital methods with traditional textual scholarship, including projects like Reproducing Renaissance Drama and Linked Early Modern Drama Online. He has supervised PhD students on topics ranging from chivalry in English drama to computational linguistics and African literary audiobooks.
