Brent Wilkerson

Brent Wilkerson, PhD, is a researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), focusing on inner ear development and hearing loss. His work explores the role of hearing impairments in autism-like behaviors in mice within the CNDD project. As an Associate Director of the GBC, he collaborates with mentors Dr. Hainan Lang (Pathology and Lab Medicine, MUSC) and Dr. Judy Dubno (Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery, MUSC), alongside external mentor Dr. Brad Walters (University of Mississippi). His research contributes to understanding peripheral sensory systems' impact on neurodevelopmental disorders (NDDs), emphasizing sound perception in ASD and related conditions.
