Brenna Griffen

Brenna Griffen, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at Louisiana State University Shreveport (LSUS), within the College of Education and Human Development. A Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral Level, she joined LSUS in 2023 after earning her doctorate from the University of Arkansas.

Her research focuses on:

• Using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) technologies like iPad-based speech-generating devices (SGD)
• Evidence-based training for educators and caregivers
• Naturalistic setting instruction for children with autism

Recent publications examine traveling skills to access SGDs, multi-step requesting, and peer-mediated communication strategies. She collaborates extensively with Elizabeth Lorah and other researchers in systematic reviews of mobile AAC efficacy.
