Brendon J. Cannon is an Assistant Professor of International Security at Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE. He joined the university in 2016 and focuses on the intersection of international relations, security studies, and geopolitics, with particular emphasis on the Indo-Pacific region and defense industries.
- Education: PhD in Political Science & International Relations (University of Utah, 2009)
Research Interests: His work explores regional security dynamics, geopolitical shifts, the arms industry, and the evolving nature of war and conflict in the Indo-Pacific, alongside the interplay between technology and international security.
Publications: His articles appear in journals such as Defence Studies, Small Wars and Insurgencies, Asian Security, and Third World Quarterly. He co-edited the book Indo-Pacific Strategies: Navigating Geopolitics at the Dawn of a New Age (Routledge, 2021).
Teaching: He teaches courses on intelligence and national security, international relations, regional security challenges, technology and security, and the changing nature of war and conflict.
