Dr. Brenda Rowe is a Professor and Director of the School of Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, and Security at the University of Southern Mississippi. Her research focuses on cybersecurity law, legal issues in criminal justice, death penalty jurisprudence, and criminal procedure.
Dr. Rowe holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Sam Houston State University (2012) and a J.D. from the University of Texas School of Law (1998). She is licensed to practice law in Texas and previously served as an Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Tarrant County, Fort Worth.
Her work bridges legal theory and practice, addressing topics such as judicial reform, cybercrime law, capital punishment delays, and jury procedures. Key contributions include analyses of state appellate judge selection, legal responses to human trafficking, and protections against unreasonable searches.
