Dr. Bree Jimenez serves as Professor and Department Chair of Educational Psychology at Baylor University's School of Education since joining the faculty in 2024. She holds a Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and brings extensive experience as a special education teacher, grant-funded research liaison, and Lead Research Associate for federal grants.
Her research concentrates on general curriculum access for students with intellectual disability and autism, with specific expertise in:
- Math, science, and STEM instruction for students with moderate-severe disabilities
- Engineering design curriculum development
- Early numeracy interventions for EC-12 populations
- Direct and systematic instructional strategies in inclusive classrooms
Dr. Jimenez' publication portfolio demonstrates strong focus on practical classroom applications, with recurring themes in engineering habits of mind development, early numeracy frameworks, and STEM accessibility solutions for students with extensive support needs across K-12 settings.
She currently leads significant external funding initiatives including:
