Dr. Amy Clausen is an Assistant Professor of Special Education at Winthrop University's College of Education, Sport, and Human Sciences. She earned her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte (2021), M.Ed. in Behavior Analysis from the University of Cincinnati (2017), and B.S. in Special Education from Morehead State University (2014). Her research focuses on enhancing access to general curriculum and promoting inclusive education for students with extensive support needs. She is a member of the Council for Exceptional Children, including divisions on Autism and Developmental Disabilities, Research, and Teacher Education. Dr. Clausen previously taught 7th and 8th grade students with significant academic and behavioral needs in Louisiana.
