Breda Moloney is an Assistant Professor at the School of Nursing & Midwifery, University of Limerick, affiliated with the Ageing Research Centre and Limerick Digital Cancer Research Centre. She holds a PhD from University College Dublin (Post VIVA) and serves as Interim Course Director for the Postgraduate Certificate in (Nurse/Midwife) Prescribing programme.
- Teaching focuses on palliative care, communication skills, advanced systematic assessment, and venepuncture
- Research interests span palliative care, young carers, family carers in employment, health and wellbeing, ageing, intellectual disabilities, and clinical skills in palliative care delivery
- Active in external collaborations with Family Carers Ireland, All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care, and Sustainable Care - Early Career Researcher International Network (University of Sheffield)
Her work contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals, particularly Quality Education and Good Health and Well-Being. Recent research outputs (2020-2021) include conference papers on young carers and palliative care systems, with a focus on family dynamics and sustainable care models.
