His research focuses on the political culture of revolutionary eras, particularly Belgium under revolutionary and Napoleonic rule, constitutional history, and the transnational circulation of radical ideas. He investigates how historical narratives and iconography shaped political legitimacy during regime changes, including the origins of the Belgian Constitution (1831). Current projects include editing unpublished drafts of the Belgian Constitution and analyzing watercolor depictions of Antwerp under revolutionary rule (1792–1797).
Publications emphasize transnational revolutionary dynamics, Napoleonic governance, and 19th-century constitutional debates. His work bridges historical analysis with visual culture, exploring how political ideas were disseminated and contested through translation and imagery.
No scientific awards are listed. He has no active grants or advising roles highlighted in the text. His research is housed within KCL's Faculty of Arts & Humanities.
